Second Chances

November 15, 2011, Tuesday

Risks are worth taking in life. Imagine going through the constant torture of waking up everyday thinking of how different your life may be if you’ve done one thing differently yesterday. It’s a simple what if, but it does a lot to a person, so it’s best to take risks at times where you think it’ll matter. If it’s a mistake, learn from it. Mistakes are part of life, so why can’t we just embrace it and enjoy what it has to offer. It’s senseless to be embarrass of it. We’re not kids anymore. We do need to eventually grow up and realize that the world’s flawed and full of imperfections.

The benefit though of taking risks is reducing the possibility of having a second chance experience. Everybody experiences second chances, but as positive as it may sound, second chances are overrated. Though important at times, it’s still overrated to me. Not all people want second chances. Some of them, including me, just wants to get on with their life and move on. The past is important, but there’s no use clinging on to it. I’m not saying we forget about it. I’m saying let’s not get stuck in it. Everybody eventually moves on. Like one of my favorite books quoted, life doesn’t stop for anybody.

Life doesn’t stop for anybody, so why should we.
