I tend to randomly write whatever my imagination lets out.

Read the Printed Word!

False Promises

We depended on promises,

not knowing the depth of the words

under the bedtime cuddles,

intimate goodbye kisses and

well-spent hours of laughter.

.

We were young,

deluded with the future

of growing up together

and waking up

side by side each morning.

But like any other romances

that bloom through the course of summer,

we eventually caught on

that under the promises we exchanged

was the fact that one of us

never meant it.

.

As I said, we depended on promises

to force our love to take flight.

In the end, our hearts took off

wobbling to stay put

until it reached its limit and fell down

into the sea of false promises,

beginning to be remembered

and soon

forgotten.

*The dot represents a space. Tumblr, for some reason, doesn’t allow double spaces. So, this is yet another attempt to try and write poetry. I was bored, so I wrote it. Not sure if I wrote this right. I think I really must settle on writing short stories instead. By the way, I don’t know how to put in line cuts, so I just inserted them when I felt it.
