I tend to randomly write whatever my imagination lets out.

Endings and its beginnings to what’s left of it.

January 2, 2012, Monday,

And in a minute too soon, the year said its goodbye and left us to a whole new start.

I can’t help but say to myself that we’re all back to square one. The year ended as any year would have, full of hopes and dreams, and as any year would also have, it would eventually end in either disappointment or triumph. 2011 has been entirely special to me compared to other years. I actually named it as the year of endings, not because of the reasons the world tried to force to all of us but because of some personal matters.

This past year, two of the most dearest things in my life ended, my high school life and my final adventure with The-Boy-Who-Lived. It may only be two, but these two had such an impact on who I am right now. Harry Potter opened my eyes to literature and writing itself while my High School life introduced me to the people that I’m sure to be with forever. Both gave me memories that someday I’ll tell to my two future kids as I tell them the story of how I met their mother.

Their end was inevitable. As much as I wanted it all to remain as it is, I couldn’t. Stephen Chbosky did quote that, “Things change. And friends leave. And life doesn’t stop for anybody.”

We eventually have to move on with what we’ve got. Things already did change, so we can’t just sit around contemplating on the past year’s disappointments and watch our friends leave. I’m already happy with my friends, so I don’t want to lose them.

It’s another year to grow wiser, to make mistakes, and to learn from them, so embrace it with everything you’ve got.

Happy New Year everyone.
